Hayley Rose
Hayley Rose is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) at Georgetown University, with a concentration in International Development. Her academic and professional interests focus on post-conflict development, fragility, governance, and gender in the Middle East and North Africa region. Outside of academics, Hayley most recently worked with the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction's Lessons Learned Program to research and draft a comprehensive report regarding U.S. efforts to support Afghan women and girls from 2001 to the present. Prior to pursuing her graduate degree, Hayley worked in international development at the American Bar Association's Rule of Law Initiative, with experience in rule of law, local governance, legal reform, gender-based violence, and related issues.
Prior to working in the nonprofit world, Hayley interned with the Middle East Institute’s Languages and Regional Studies Department and worked as a Project Assistant in international trade policy. As an undergraduate student at the University of Virginia, Hayley combined a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Affairs with internships and research assistantships in international development, law and women's rights, public policy, and congressional relations. Hayley graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia in 2015, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Hayley is originally from a small town outside of Cincinnati, Ohio.
"I chose the MSFS program because I knew it would give me the opportunity to develop not only my academic and professional background, but also to grow in its core values of leadership, creativity, ethics, and service."
