Hailey Egelhoff
Hailey is originally from Denver, Colorado and attended the University of Colorado – Boulder where she received a B.A. in International Affairs and Political Science and minored in Public Health and Education. While at CU she spent a semester at the University van Amsterdam in The Netherlands where she studied Dutch culture, politics, and human security. Hailey additionally studied conservation efforts and indigenous cultures while camping and backpacking around Tanzania. Her academic and professional thematic interests primarily lie in youth development and education outreach while her regional area of interest is Central and South America. As an undergraduate, her thesis addressing the effectiveness of policies implemented by the governments in El Salvador and Guatemala intended to combat the rise in violence due to transnational gangs was published in the 2021 University of Colorado Honors Journal. She worked in Buenos Aires, Argentina at Fundación Luisa Hairabedian, a human rights organization that focuses primarily on the Armenian Genocide and the preservation of memory of the last dictatorship in Argentina. Upon her graduation from CU, Hailey spent two years in Spain as an English Language Teaching Assistant in the local primary schools.
