Evelina Dahlgren
Evelina Dahlgren is a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) candidate at Georgetown University, from Eskilstuna, Sweden. Her professional and academic interests are at the intersection of humanitarian diplomacy, migration, and development in countries affected by Fragility, Conflict, and Violence. To complement her master’s, Evelina is pursuing Graduate Certificates in Diplomatic Studies and African Studies.
Evelina has experience working with migration and development in the multilateral and non-profit space. Most recently, she interned with IOM UN in Lagos, Nigeria. Furthermore, Evelina has conducted research and resettlement work for several refugee organizations, including UNHCR and Catholic Charities. In addition to her migration background, she recently worked on climate projects for The Swedish Institute of International Affairs, which contributed to her being selected as a Georgetown Student Delegate to the COP27 conference. In the Spring of 2023, she will continue her research on climate and development as a research assistant for professor Shanta Devarajan.
Prior to Georgetown, Evelina earned her Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies, and Culture and Media Studies (dual major) from The New School University. Her senior thesis investigated how epistemic actors had covered the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. This project was selected for the Dean’s Honor Symposium conference.
