Devon Harris
Prior to Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS), Devon worked at University of California, Berkeley and supported the integration of technology in classroom instruction as an educational technology specialist. She also worked for the US State Department’s FLEX Scholarship by traveling and interviewing potential high school exchange students throughout Ukraine, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.
Devon is interested in international security and conflict resolution, specifically in Russia and post-Soviet countries. As a State Department intern in the US Embassy in Kyiv, she tracked the conflict in eastern Ukraine and reported on corruption and nuclear/ radioactive smuggling. As a State Department intern at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, Devon reported on the HIV/ AIDS epidemic, space relations, and environmental issues.
Devon holds degrees in Applied Mathematics and Russian Language and Literature from UC Berkeley. Also passionate about intercultural exchange and international education, Devon taught at Space Camp Turkey and was a counselor at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy’s summer intensive program. She has studied abroad in Russia and Georgia. Devon enjoys cooking, backpacking, and playing basketball.
