Christopher Rich
Chris is from Franklin, Massachusetts and studied government at St. Lawrence University. He has worked with refugee aid organizations in Ankara, Turkey; Amman, Jordan; and Chiang Mai, Thailand as well as the Catholic Charities’ migrant and refugee resettlement program in Washington D.C.
Prior to Georgetown, Chris served in the Peace Corps in Oued Amlil, Morocco, where he led skill-building sessions for high school youth, tutored English, and led a music club. During the 2020 global evacuation due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Chris served as the warden for his region and coordinated the evacuation of sixteen volunteers from their sites to the Peace Corps headquarters in Rabat.
In 2021, Chris was selected as a Thomas R. Pickering Fellow, and he will enter the U.S. Foreign Service as a Political Officer in the fall of 2023. He is committed to representing his country abroad and working to promote American interests through support for at-risk displaced communities. At Georgetown, Chris is in the Global Politics and Security concentration, and he focuses his studies on U.S. migration and refugee policy. Chris is a candidate for the Diplomatic Studies Certificate, and he speaks Moroccan Darija and Modern Standard Arabic.
