Ava Tavrazich
Ava is a first-year Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) student pursuing a concentration in Global Politics and Security. Her interests include the intersection of human rights, political security, and U.S. diplomacy, particularly in Latin America. She currently serves as an editor for the Dialogues section of the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs.
Prior to MSFS, Ava worked as a legal evidence specialist at an immigration law firm in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She received a B.A. in Spanish and International Studies, with a minor in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian Languages and Literatures, from the University of Michigan in 2017. As an undergraduate, Ava spent three summers in Quito, Ecuador as the director of The Quito Project, an organization that promotes local educational initiatives for children. She was a member of the Michigan Journal of International Affairs, publishing several articles for the Americas section. She also interned at U.S. Embassy Belgrade, Serbia in the Consular Affairs section. Ava plans to pursue a career in the public or multilateral sector and work in Latin America. She speaks Spanish and Serbian.
