Arshelle Carter
Arshelle Carter is a candidate for the Master of Science in Foreign Service degree. Her concentration is International Development. She is interested in the Southeast Asia region and public diplomacy initiatives. Arshelle has worked on international education programs including TechGirls, an initiative of the U.S. Department of State. Prior to Georgetown, she supported projects across Southeast Asia for the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs. In addition, Arshelle received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant grant to Indonesia. After her service, she coordinated the program for the Fulbright commission in Jakarta for two years. Arshelle graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. in International Management and B.A. in International Studies. In her undergraduate career, Arshelle studied abroad in Mexico, Spain, and Qatar. She also interned for U.S. Embassy Paramaribo in Suriname. Arshelle hopes to pursue a career in diplomacy as a Foreign Service Officer in the Department of State. She is studying Indonesian and Spanish.
Arshelle chose Georgetown because she believes it offers the best preparation to work in complex and rapidly evolving fields. She looks forward to receiving the practical knowledge and tools to successfully manage programs.
