Altynay Junusova
Altynay Junusova is an M.S. candidate at the Walsh School from the Kyrgyz Republic, concentrating on Science, Technology, and International Affairs. Her focus is AI planning and cyber diplomacy, and during her time at MSFS, she hopes to explore the interdisciplinary ways to apply technology and innovation-driven approaches to solve human-centered problems.
Prior to Georgetown, Altynay served as an editor of the top TV news program “Time of Eurasia” for the China Central Television in Beijing. Later, she worked for the International Foundation of the first woman president of the Kyrgyz Republic “Roza Otunbayeva Initiative” in Bishkek, where she coordinated innovative projects focused on STEM, gender equality, and the environment.
Altynay earned a B.A. with honors in Chinese studies with a focus on Economics and Trade from Beijing Foreign Studies University. Her thesis on the Chinese Direct Investment in Central Asia has been featured as the best graduation paper of the department.Outside of school, Altynay enjoys photography and digital drawings, loves spending time outdoors and capoeira.
