Tala Anchassi, MSFS '19

Tala is a second-year MSFS student from Lebanon and is part of the BSFS/MSFS dual-degree program. She concentrates in International Development. In May 2018, she completed her undergraduate degree in International Economics. This past summer, she interned at the American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA) office in Lebanon.

Erik Angamarca, MSFS '20

Erik grew up in a working-class immigrant family from Ecuador in Queens, New York. He is inspired to join the State Department Foreign Service to share America’s message of diversity to the world. He is pursuing the MSFS graduate degree with a concentration in Global Politics and Security.

Megumi Aoyama, MSFS '19

Megumi is second-year student in the Master of Science of in Foreign Service program pursuing the International Development concentration. Prior to joining the MSFS program, Megumi was an anchorwoman for TV Asahi in her home country of Japan. Megumi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kyoto University and speaks Japanese and English.

Regina Argenzio, MSFS '20

Regina is a first-year MSFS candidate concentrating in Global Politics and Security. Prior to the MSFS program, Regina worked as a technology account manager at Darktrace, a global cyber security company operating in 32 countries. Regina holds a Bachelor of Science in International Politics from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service.

Katherine Ayanian

Originally from Wayland, MA, Katherine holds an undergraduate degree in International Affairs from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to MSFS, she worked for Chemonics International and Jefferson Consulting Group and interned for the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Mission to the U.N Human Rights Council in Geneva. She speaks French.

Molly Barlow, MSFS '20

Molly is interested in finding innovative policy solutions to address migration crises. Within the MSFS program, she is concentrating in Global Business and Finance and completing the Refugees and Humanitarian Crises Certificate. Molly worked as a paralegal at the U.S. Department of Justice and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Michael Battalia

A Washington, D.C. native, Michael has an undergraduate degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics. Prior to coming to MSFS, he worked in strategy consulting with Monitor Deloitte in Beirut and Dubai. He speaks French, Arabic, and Spanish.

Tyra Beaman, MSFS '19

Tyra is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Foreign Service, concentrating in Global Politics and Security. Tyra is a native of Richmond, Virginia and graduated high school with an International Baccalaureate Diploma, which sparked her love for global affairs and service. In 2016, she graduated from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies.

Colin Bennett Miller, MSFS '19

Colin is a current MBA and Master of Science in Foreign Service graduate student. Prior to his studies at Georgetown, Colin served as a U.S. Naval Officer for six years with deployments to the Middle East and East Asia. In addition to his experience in the Navy, Colin was a financial technology intern at Dubai International Financial Centre.

Charles Besnard, MSFS '19

Charles focuses on American public diplomacy in the Global Politics and Security concentration. Prior to MSFS, he served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Burkina Faso. Charles is a French-American dual citizen and speaks French, Spanish, and Mooré. He currently serves as a teaching assistant for former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright.
