Project Design

In this workshop, students consider questions related to the design of development projects and programs, including:

  • How to design effective and sustainable programs?

  • How to respond to program customer and beneficiary needs?

  • How to measure program results?

  • How to involve beneficiaries in program planning and implementation?

The specific tools introduced and practiced in this workshop include:

  • Identifying stakeholders and conducting stakeholder analysis

  • Performing situation and needs analysis

  • Formulating objectives (Goals, Purpose, Outputs)

  • Developing practical performance indicators

  • Measuring participation and risk analysis

  • Identifying key assumptions and risks

  • Using data sources for verifying project status and using key activity clusters to support the project
