Group Dynamics Exercises

During pre-registration orientation, first-year MSFS students take part in group dynamics exercises, such as those used by the U.S. Foreign Service, the Presidential Management Fellows Program, and leading consulting firms to select and train young professionals. The purpose of these exercises is to demonstrate, build upon, and learn skills for negotiating and working with others. Each student is assigned to a group that is asked to solve a real-life problem under tight constraints of information and time. Participants receive feedback from trained observers, who assess their performance and suggest how they can improve their negotiation and presentation skills.
