New Entrepreneurship Grant Supports Internships and Courses
MSFS students can register for courses teaching entrepreneurial skills and receive financial support for overseas summer internships that put those skills into practice. The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation awarded
Entrepreneurship seeks to harness individual initiative and creativity in order to do good while doing well. Within MSFS, the project will focus on opportunities for students to learn how to design, develop and implement projects that advance international development goals. Students in both the Program's international development and business concentration areas will choose among courses and special skills clinics on topics such as microfinance, project evaluation, small enterprise development and emerging market opportunities.
The Kauffman initiative also provides financial support to students for overseas summer internships that involve projects utilizing their entrepreneurial training. Drawing on a global MSFS alumni network, the Program's Internship Coordinator will help students identify overseas opportunities that can yield tangible local benefits while providing valuable field experience.
